Mushreq arrives in Cape Town

THREE-year-old Mushreq, pictured on arrival at Milnerton’s training centre in Cape Town on Wednesday. Mike de Kock’s promising colt will be contesting the listed R125,000 Politician Stakes over 1800m on L’Ormarins Queen’s Plate day, and will be facing the likes of Taipan, Silver Haven, Jackson and Changingoftheguard in what promises to be a mouthwatering finish.

“Mushreq’s long-term aim is the Cape Derby,” said assistant trainer Mathew De Kock.

Mushreq’s stablemates, Gibraltar Blue and Link Man, have also travelled well to Cape Town and are stabled at Joey Ramsden’s yard.

They’re at 8-1 and 7-1 respectively for Saturday’s Queen’s Plate.
