Trippi Juvenile Sprint

THE supporting programme for the L’Ormarins Queens Plate (Gr 1)  race day to be run at Kenilworth on Saturday, 7 January 2012, received a boost this week when Gaynor Rupert of L’Ormarins and Drakenstein Stud announced that they would also sponsor the Juvenile Plate scheduled for the day.

Agra, a winner on debut for Trippi.

Now named the Trippi Juvenile Sprint, in honour of their new stallion whose first runner was a winner last Saturday, the race will carry a stake of R100 000. The increased stake is an added incentive for trainers to step out their top juveniles and it will be a pointer to the Summer Juvenile Stakes (Listed) to be run on J&B Met day, and which was won last year by Princess Victoria.

The TBA Paddock Stakes (Gr 1) and the Politician Stakes (Listed) also feature on the 10-race programme and the likely presence of reigning Horse-of-the-Year, Igugu, in the Paddock Stakes will ensure a bumper crowd for this showcase race day.
