Right in the Pink!

DEAR FR, I attended Saturday’s Cup meeting at Turffontein and I must say that for the first time in years I had hope for the future of racing, and not only because I really enjoyed the races and the good horses that raced.

For me the most striking thing was the pink theme, the fact that most racegoers, not just the owners and connections, came dressed in pink or had pink hats or shoes on or whatever. This shows that the ordinary people in Gauteng can also dress up like they do for the Met and the L’ormarins Blue race and it was very encouraging to see.

May I also add that the women in Johannesburg are the prettiest in the land!

Thanks to the organizers for a very good day and may the event get only better from here.
